2022 Jersey Rally – Teams
1 Ross le Noa/Domonic Volante – Escort Millington powered – multiple winners of Jersey, L’Etacq, Guernsey. The shyest driver we know but the loudest on the stages!
2 Jeremy Baudains/James Ollivro – Escort Millington engine. The SilverFox! previous winner – warmed up with the MewlaRally in late August.
3 Lee Vivian/Will Rutherford – First of the Fiesta R5s very modern 1600 turbo cars – one stepdown from full world rally cars. Lee tested in UK recently when he persuaded the next car to come to Jersey…
88 running as 4th car – late entry Frank Bird Jnr & Jack Morton – Fiesta R5, very experienced young team. Frank is 22 and Jack is 27. Also circuit races GT3 took the car to the Barbados rallying on closed roads and did very well. Regular winner on circuit based rallies in UK. Jack Morton just won the Chris Kelly Memorial Manx rally with his other driver as a warm up for Jersey.
4 Sam Touzel/Aaron Nicolle – Escort 2 litre, car ex Chris Le Bonniec, Kevin Fossey, Ron Allen – exciting young team who placed 2nd in Guernsey. Just had his 30th birthday.
5 Dave Oliveira/Victor Nobrega – Another fast exciting Escort Millington – Victor is also kindly a stage sponsor through Sign Solutions – they had a off last year – and will be looking for a good result this time.
6 Steve Leonard/Sion Humphreys – Very welcome return of this highly successful team in their stunning 2 litre Escort (Vauxhall) – multiple winner of the Jersey Rally – certainly the poshest service vehicle.
7 Simon Le Noa/Katie Le Noa – Fabulous return of the amazing Ford Anglia – widened and engine transplant to a Millington – it will be flying like Harry Potter’s Anglia.
8 John Le Brun/Sam Simon – Exciting driving expected from this former Handbrake Trophy winner in the first of the BMW cars – John has featured at the very front in recent years and has formed a great team with Sam Simon.
9 Steve Ellis/Jamie Vaughan – Looking for the finish they deserve this year – lying 3rd last year until they crashed. Jamie flew straight from the Isle of Man where he competed very successfully with his other driver 2 litre escort.
10 Dan Corner/Mark Regan – Peugeot 205 2.3 litre – a long term partnership this one with great results. Local co-driver with local knowledge
11 Martin Waters/Stuart Dodd – BMW the brightest green! These guys competed successfully in the Isle of Man last weekend and came straight down to Jersey so expect them to be straight out of the blocks on stage 1.
24 James Munden/Andy Frost – Another regular visitor; 2.5 litre Millington Escort – best Jersey result 5th; first event this year as haven’t managed to get out earlier.
12 Richard Fishleigh/Jason McCullough – Another team to watch – have had great results in Jersey in prior years. They also competed successfully in the Isle of Man.
14 Rob de Ste Paer/Steve Hobbs – Ford Escort now with Millington power – Rob a true stalwart of the Jersey Rally – he has been incredibly busy with much of the preparation whether it is leading the PR exercise, leading the stake team, arranging the toilets, one of the hardest workers that we have and thanks to him indeed.
15 Dale Crowsley/Steve Gully – Doctor Love now in rear wheel drive after many successful years with his Mazda’s – will Steve be on the mike at the after party?
16 Lyndon Barton/Paul Morris – Great to welcome Mr Barton back to Jersey again – Ford Fiesta R5 again – should be good times with his knowledge of the Island.
17 Steve Furzeland/Kevin Moore – First visit to Jersey for the very experienced Steve – regular competitor with his WRC Subaru across the whole of the UK but he has brought his daughter’s B13 to this event – narrow lanes maybe! Jersey Rally has been on their bucket list for a long time. Recce was fun with the wives in the back “trying to help”! Kevin did the Jersey Rally 32 years ago in an MG Midget with his wife for their honeymoon.
18 John Morgan/Llinos Jones Edwards – Son of the winner of first Jersey Rally – Den Motorsport built Escort 2.5 litre Millington. John won fastest time at the August Jersey Festival of Motorsport in his Westfield.
19 Ian Godney/Matt Godfray – Suzuki Swift F2000 kit car – fantastic car which Ian bought this year. New team with Ian relying on Matt’s local knowledge. Ian is a great dad to the lovely Harri and Betsi.
20 Andy Corner/Ade Campo – Peugeot FWD2 class – these two have been together longer than many couples! Watch the InCar to enjoy Ade’s gravelly tones! Great success in Jersey over the years and we look forward to them beating their seeding.
21 Mark Syvret/Chris Fox – Fabulous classic Escort with two of our hardest workers in organising the Jersey Rally. Mark also kindly through Romerils is a Stage Sponsor – Foxy turned 60 in the summer but says he still feels 21.
22 Mark Follain/Lee Dare – Another fabulous classic 2 litre Escort – the team warmed up with the Escort Special Rally in Belgium – a feast of old school Escorts and a fabulous festival. 2 litre of classic power.
23 James Labey/Derek Le Bailly – Last year’s under 25 years winner and in with a good chance this year as well. Former kart racer.
25 David Kynaston/Andy Conibear – A very gifted engineer and successful rally driver well known for his Audi exploits – now in the classic TR7 V8 one of our many Devon visitors.
26 David Longfellow/Mark Broadbent –Fiesta R2T – the junior class supporting the R5’s – very popular cars with our younger competitors – previously competed with their Mitsubishi Evo IX.
27 Chris Torode/Nick Saunders – Very popular Guernsey visitors and the head of Clan Torode. Nick also a very successful hillclimb racer in his own right. One of many Guernsey based Peugeot – Chris karted as a youngster – both sons also started in karting and are rallying this weekend as well.
28 Kevin Rault/Dan Gallichan – Escort with Millington power again. Raulti moved to England in last year and enjoying new life. Competed in the Watergate Hillclimb to warm up for Jersey – also had a great result on the Carl Sorensen Memorial Rally in Cornwall in the summer.
29 Sam Cox/Paul Brown – Renault Clio Cup Car – great rally car – Sam hoping Pauls experience in Jersey will assist him – Paul having sat with Stuart Fossey and Ian Godney. Slightly stressed as their service crew missed the ferry!
30 Chris Barette/Alan Lloyd – Another of many local Escorts, 2.3 litre – Alan recently became a dad and will be out to impress his youngster.
31 Tim Alderson/Peter Villars – BMW E30 – another long term partnership here and Tim has persuaded many others to launch their rally careers in BMWs. If you need a spare try Tim first! also one of our most dedicated scrutineers. They even have BMW for the quarry rallies – definitely the biggest smiles from this team.
32 Simon Hunter/Howard Pridmore – 1400cc Corsa and top seed for the up to 1400cc class. Simon has also navigated in Jersey so good knowledge in both seats of the car.
33 Fraser Torode/Adam Le Ray – Peugeot 205 in FWD2 class. Another young Guernseyman who had a very successful karting career before building his own Peugeot rally car. Has rallied successfully in both islands now for several years.
34 John Eborall/Alex Rosamund – Peugeot 106 class B up to 1600; Ebby has come to Jersey for many years – always a great laugh and determination to finish.
35 Nick Duquemin/Phil Ferbrache – Escort 2 litre (class C) – Guernsey again – Nick’s father also a successful rally driver (Gary). Phil stepping into the co-driver seat with Nick for the first time – having survived navigating for Chris Torode.
36 Stephen Le Brun/Matthew Le Brun – BMW E30 – successful motocross racers and “stunt riders” too – enjoying their rallying and proving that experience on 2 wheels gives you a headstart.
37 Craig Robert/Chris Guille – Honda Civic – 7th overall in Guernsey Rally which was Chris’ first event – he’s really looking forward to the challenge of 2 days in the Jersey lanes. Craig great competitor always enjoyed coming from Guernsey.
38 Chris Le Chevalier/Oliver Holmes – Subaru Impreza – at the Clubman level of the 4WD class, have had great success at the Jersey offroad rallies with the car – although did nearly roll into the quarry at one event. Oliver now lives in Scotland where he is continuing his Supermoto racing but he had to return for the Jersey Rally.
39 Paul Trebert/Jason Carre – Peugeot 206 – class B. A pretty stressful week for Paul as parts did not arrive when due and he had little sleep the night before the extremely early ferry to Jersey (photo evidence on the Rally’s official facebook page). But they are here…
40 Angus Torode/Adam Creed – Citroen C2R2 in the class B – final member of Clan Torode from Guernsey; very successful junior kart racer who graduated to co-driving for Dad, Chris and then developed the Citroen himself. Another one looking for the up to 25 years trophy.
41 Tom Todd/Chris Beer – 2 litre Escort – first visit to Jersey.
42 Paul Vibert/Richard Amy – Escort 1340cc – one of the smallest BD engines in a Ford and some great results from this “pocket rocket”. Paul taking time off from the Falles bodyshop to compete.
43 Chris Cotillard/Harri Cotillard – Another Den Motorsport Escort with 2.5 Millington – tested successfully at Bont earlier in the year and had a great result at Caerwent a week or so ago.
44 Rex Ireland/Daniel Morefield – 2 litre historic Escort. Rex saw the car for sale on line and bought it – from Barbados! interesting history was owned by the McRae family at one point.
45 Greg Kelly/Phil Vedier – Mixed Channel Islands crew – Phil in for a treat – another Den Motorsport Millington powered beast. Will be looking to make it to the finish this year.
46 Bruce Robinson/Clive Chisnall – Another lovely classic Escort for the Jayen boss. New co-driver so see how the team goes but looking for a good finish.
47 Jack Hinton/Connor Carre – The fastest 1600cc Nova in Jersey – Jack stunned spectators at the Grève de Lecq Speed Festival in August. A very well sorted rally car and a competitive team – ones to watch.
48 Roger Henderson/Tommi Henderson – Fiesta R5 – beautifully prepared car and their first major rally with this car. Previously in an Escort. Roger says he is going for a finish. Tommi cant wait to be allowed to drive it!
49 Jon Mallen/Sienna Denny Mallen – Father & daughter team in 2.5 litre Vauxhall powered Escort – 3rd rally for the team. Started with Bovington in March as their baptism of fire and then had a good L’Etacq Attack rally – programme now is to aim for a finish at Jersey.
50 Richard Le Marquand/Trevor Rabet – Truly one of the hardest working members of the Committee Richard built this beautiful Escort himself – in the 2 litre class. Trevor has co-drove for him for many many years. Richard won the Mark Lowe Memorial Trophy in its first year for his dedication.
51 Geno Gouveia/Jason Gouveia – Subaru Impreza – returning to his former Jersey home. Geno a regular competitor for many years. Bit of a challenge with the Subaru on Thursday but hopefully other crews have helped with the relevant part…
52 David Edmunds/Dom Jeans – Honda Civic – Class C 2 Litre; welcome back to Jersey again for these long time supporters of the Jersey Rally. Earliest Jersey rally was 2004. Competed at Abingdon this summer.
53 Mr Neil Touzel/Francis Touzel – The now classic Escort Cosworth – the famous (or is it infamous) Touzel motorsport family – both started in motocross and have enjoyed many of the different disciplines. Francis has burnt many hours preparing rally cars amongst the family this year – including nephew Sam and also his daughter Alix’s first rally car. Real dedication.
54 Michael Cotillard/Wendy Geary – Subaru Impreza – former Rally Chairman – always enjoyed their rallying…
56 David Truscott/Andy Simpson – Another classic Escort with BD power – first rally experience for Simbo so see how they go… Looking for a finish.
57 Duncan Buck/Cate Buck – Black Porsche Carrera 2016 vintage – originally Cate’s shopping car and unmodified – hoping for a finish as their first objective. Duncan last did Jersey Rally in 2016 and loved it.
58 John Turmel/James Turmel – Father & Son team; 2 litre Escort – enjoyed L’Etacq as James first event and getting good experience.
59 Sion Matthews/Max Freeman – 2 litre Astra; good active season to date for Max who regularly sits with top driver Ruari Bell in an R5. First time for this team together.
60 David Ginn/Michael Timms – English/Guernsey team – Micra in class A.
61 Grant Collins/George Carter – Subaru Impreza – regular competitors in all forms of Jersey motorsport; Grant is one of most active supporters of sandracing in the Island and also regularly competes on his bike at sprints etc.
62 Ben Mason/Andy Smith – Honda Integra – Ben is a real Honda enthusiast – competes in all the rallies available in the Island. Keen competitors in the FwD2 class.
63 Kieran Gregory/Ben Hague – Our Motocross chairman, very successful motocross rider and keen rally driver in his Fiesta XR2. Just finished the motocross season with a very successful 2 day event.
64 Richard Manning/Simon Bonny – Escort 2 litre built on Island. Richard took the rally driver test at the beginning of the year, has hillclimbed the Escort to build mileage and successful L’Etacq Attack debut. Now he even has rally driver boots.
65 Keith Pinel/Martin Pinel – Lotus Sunbeam was acquired this year and team looking forward to building on previous successes.
66 Alastair Flack/Simon May – Our second TR7 V8 this year. Significant work on the engine by Grace Developments.
67 Andy Slade/Pete Bold – 2 litre Escort – 28th overall in 2021 Jersey Rally.
68 Joao Rodrigues/Jordan Hall – Renault Clio – another newer team to rallying.
69 Dave Smith/Drew Jones – Another local Subaru team – and the single venue rally chairman.
70 Karl Robert/Chris Pommier – From the famous Guernsey rally family – and another Peugeot 205.
72 Kevin Shales/Steve Ahearne – Its not a rally without a “proper” mini! 22nd Jersey rally 2021, 21st L’Etacq 2022.
73 Nathan Nicolle/Romany Stephens – VW Lupo – built and developed by this clever engineer. Both Nathan and Romany are good rally drivers with Romany featuring in results at the Jersey off road events as well. Nathan started the August motorsport festival with the rally Lupo but also used two other cars!
74 Brendan McLaughlin/Emma Falle – A BMW enthusiast having been talked into rallying by Tim Alderson and then bought one of Tim’s cars! 29th in Jersey Rally 2021.
75 Tim Le Lacheur/Pete Sims – More Guernsey visitors – 1800cc Escort – retired from 2022 Guernsey Rally, 22nd on first visit to L’Etacq Attack.
76 James Weaver/Teresa Butler – Have visited Jersey to compete for many many years with the reliable MG ZR – great competitors and socials.
77 Stephen Higgins/Lea Ramden – Another Mini Cooper to watch and enjoy on their first visit to Jersey.
78 Mark Galvin/Sam Galvin – Jersey father & son team – both took their rally driver test at the beginning of the year and have prepared the unusual Mazda MX5 rally car for its second outing, having completed L’Etacq Attack beating their seeding to claim 34th. This is their first 2 day event – they say they enjoyed the recce and the notes were beginning to make sense.
79 Steven Knight/James Bazza Philips – Peugeot 106 – another rally driver graduate 2022 who invested in a Ford Puma and has now upgraded to his next car – 27th L’Etacq Attack in the Puma; 2nd Summer Rally (quarry).
80 Tyler Collins/Glenn Godfrey – Honda Civic – great motorsport enthusiasts with Tyler sandracing from 14 years old, building his own rally car and moving forward.
82 Richard Le Feuvre/Craig Addlesee – Guernsey team Escort. Craig has been helping many of the Guernsey teams get their cars ready for this.
83 Charlie Norton/Max Brochet – Another new Jersey team this year – enjoyed L’Etacq attack and hope to benefit from all the training given this year Citroen Saxo.
85 Chris Mackay/Piers Little – 2 litre Fiesta – great regular competitors in the Jersey Rally and L’Etacq Attack. Brother in law to Richard Le Marquand so both have burnt a lot of midnight oil in their shed to reach the start.
86 Alix Touzel/Alyson Touzel – Alix’s first rally – bit of a baptism of fire! Alyson has co-driven several times and will be guiding her around. Our only all lady team.
87 Jonathan Robilliard/Gregory Robert – Another Guernsey Peugeot 205 – they seem to have cornered the market!
